Our Zero-THC brand still boasts a “broad spectrum” of those synergistic compounds, and is designed for those wanting to ensure zero-THC ingestion. We also carry CBD isolate in both liquid and powder form. Each batch of product is also independently dose and potency certified. Our products are made from Hemp and are protected under the 2014 U.S. Farm Bill as food. Hemp is different than Marijuana or Cannabis. See more at National Hemp Association.

Did you know that the human body contains millions of cellular sites known as “Endocannabinoid Receptors”? These cellular sites are waiting to be filled by CBD. THC uses a different set of receptors than those used by the immune system receptors occupied by CBD.THC is the “high” drug found in marijuana plants. It’s thought these receptors are so abundant in the body because Hemp used to be a common and important food source for both animals and humans.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD is one of over 60 structurally related cannabis plant-derived compounds that stimulate naturally-occurring cannabinoid receptors in cells that mediate cell communication. CBD, unlike its psychotropic cousin delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), elicits no euphoria or high sensation. This may be due to the fact that of the two cannabinoid receptors in the body identified as CB1 (brain, spinal cord, central nervous system) and CB2, CBD typically gravitates to the densely populated receptor sites of the spleen, home to the immune system.

The endocannabinoid system exists in all animal life. In fact, the human brain actually contains more endocannabinoid receptors than any other G-coupled protein receptors (receptors that sense exocannabinoid activators and direct cellular responses). This is important because G-coupled protein receptors play a pivotal role in maintaining the body’s wellbeing, or homeostasis. These receptors are implicated in a variety of conditions and targeted by many pharmaceuticals.

Unfortunately, many of these modern medicines are no more effective than a placebo in clinical trials and are often rife with debilitating side effects and dangerous drug-to-drug interactions.

What is CBD used for?

Due to its unique pharmacokinetics (what a body does to a substance) and pharmacodynamics (what it does to the body), CBD offers tremendous promise in supporting overall health. By modulating neurotransmission in bodily systems, CBD is able to provide a viable, non-toxic option for the 50 million Americans suffering from a wide variety of conditions. Furthermore, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), while Americans spend more than $100 billion per year on these types of medications, they only work 30 percent of the time. Which says nothing of debilitating side effects and dangerous drug-to-drug interactions.

Similarly, another 50 million Americans spend $41 billion per year on medications that routinely perform no better than a placebo and have black box warnings, the strictest warnings possible and are linked to suicide and violence.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural, plant-based medicine with virtually no side effects or drug-to-drug interactions. The 34 studies lauding the efficacy, safety and tolerability of CBD may very well just be the tip of the iceberg when determining clinical and societal usefulness of this wonderful phytoceutical.

How will CBD help me?

For the 50 million Americans suffering from a variety of conditions, CBD provides hope as a safe, non-toxic option to dangerous and underperforming pharmaceuticals. The approximately 1.2 million healthcare providers including physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners caring for these patients now have something in their armamentarium that causes no end organ damage, has no lethal dose (LD -50), requires no prescription and eliminates the hassle of dealing with insurance companies, thereby saving valuable time and clinic resources.

Cannabidiol (CBD): all-natural plant-based alternative to expensive and dangerous pharmaceuticals.

  • no prescription, one less script scrutinized by DEA
  • no lethal dose (LD-50)
  • no end organ damage
  • No hassle with insurance companies or spending time on prior authorizations, step edits or callbacks from patients and pharmacies.
  • Virtually no drug interactions or side effects (the most common side effect is a possible need to decrease any prescription pharmaceutical medication you may be taking. CBD products, like eating green vegetables, can reduce clotting and most commonly lessen the need for ANTICOAGULANT MEDICATION such as Warfarin, Coumadin, Heparin, Rivaroxaban, Xarelto, Dabigatran, Pradaxa, Apixaban, Eliquis, Enoxaparin, Lovenox, Edoxaban, Savaysa, Fondaparinux, Arixtra and others. If you are taking ANTICOAGULANT MEDICATION, inform your doctor if you are taking CBD for longer than trial period of a few days.

Hemp seed oil has been called Nature’s Perfect Food for Humanity, a wealth of health for everyone. The oil can be used as part of a nutritional program to maintain and improve good health. With a pleasant nutty flavor, Hemp Seed Oil is ideal for use in salad dressings, mayonnaise, dips, etc.

Hemp has had a long-standing relationship with humanity; modern science reveals that it contains all the essential amino and essential fatty acids necessary for human life, as well as a rare protein known as globule edestins that is very similar to the globulin found in human blood plasma.

Hemp oil is nature’s most balanced oil for human nutrition (3:1 LA to LNA ratio) and is easily digestible; in fact this oil could provide all of our Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) requirements for life, due to the balanced 80% EFA content of the oil. EFAs not only help restore bodies but support immune systems.

Research has shown that this nutritional oil was once a part of worldwide dietary intake, as the hemp plant was one of the first cultivated crops. All natural foods contain some substances essential to life. For example, oils found in nuts and seeds contain significantly higher amounts of essential fatty acids than other foods.

Much information about hemp has been systematically removed from written texts since the 1930s and is now difficult to find. Many of the myths about hemp, perpetuated by governments to this day, are incorrect and simply propaganda created to make way for synthetic manmade products.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural constituent of hemp oil.

The Health Institute of Western Colorado does not sell or distribute any products that are in violation of the United States Controlled Substances Act (US CSA). The company does sell and distribute hemp-based products.
